Australian Design Museum Exhibition

Art Month is underway in Sydney (http://artmonthsydney.com to see all the great events that are on).

The Australian Design Museum Exhibition at the Shapiro Gallery was the first event I picked and what a great way to start. The gallery owner, Andrew Shapiro, and the exhibition curator, Sarah King, talked us through all the exhibits. Many of which are from upcoming and established Australian designers.

It was a chance to get up close to and in the case of the furniture, sit on prototypes of design classics like Marc Newson's Wooden Chair, Adam Goodrum's Stitch Chair, Khai Leiw's gorgeous wooden furniture and iconic prints from Donald Fish. What's more if you have the dollars in the bank (75,000 of them in the case of Marc Newson's chair) then you could actually take one of these unique prototypes home with you! With over 20 designers in the exhibition and objects to suit all budgets it's well worth a visit, the bad news is it finishes on the 7th of March so you'll have to be quick!
